"You can't 'know', you can only believe - or not" - CS Lewis

When people ask me to choose between chocolate, teddy bear or flowers as a gift, I use to always put flowers at the bottom of the list. But after receiving them as gifts on my baptism, I had to rethink my answer. They're quite beautiful to put around the home and so pretty to take photos of :)

The Christmas tree is up! Which means that Christmas is coming up very soon :) And this year, our family has finally bought a new Christmas tree. This one takes longer than 2 minutes to put up compared to our old little one and it's actually possible to put presents underneath it this time :)

A friend who is graduating from film school this year, invited my sister and I to his film premiere night and it was a night that felt like I was at the Grammy Awards (sadly there was no red carpet). Not to mention, it was definitely an honour to be able to watch all the films that the students spent all their efforts, money and year to produce. I wasn't sure what level of professional to expect but the films definitely exceeded any expectations. Any of the films could have passed as a short film from Hollywood! There were around 13 films that we sat through and each had a different theme - documentary, comedy, drama, thriller or romantic comedy.
My friend was a part of three films and one of them won the Best Film award! Such an honour to have shared the experience with such a hard-working friend.

The beginning of holidays calls for a catch up with my highschool friends before they fly off on their travels overseas. This time we decided to take a visit to French Twist at The Barracks. Being inexperienced in taking bus to that area, we ended up having to walk a kilometre or so before we arrived. By then, we were craving nothing but a cool drink..so cool drinks was what we got :) The other part of the reason was because the other food on the menu were quite expensive. Too expensive for our liking. Although the price of the drinks were still a little high and my friends were saying they could probably replicate it at home for not even half the price, I thought the price was worth the taste and the experience.

It's this time of the year again! Graduations to celebrate an end to another chapter in life. This time is a friend from church graduating with a Bachelor of Regional and Town Planning. Note: that Totoro has a little graduation hat on one of it's ears and a graduation scroll in its paw- so cute!

Last Saturday, my sister and two of our friends visited the Eat Street Markets in Hamilton. That place was already buzzing with people and the fragrances of all the food were already strong in the air when we arrived. Although the main attraction of the markets was the infinite range of cuisines (Italian, Japanese, German, Spanish, you name it and it's all there), there were a few other stalls that were selling delicately hand-made goodies. The setup of the markets was quite special too- the clever of use of shipping containers to hold stalls and the strings of light bulbs and fairy lights created an industrial yet slightly classy feel. These markets are definitely not for one-time visits but encourage multiple visits in order to have a taste of all the different cuisines it has to offer.
