The Doughnut Bar

Brisbane seems to be stepping up their doughnut game and I am definitely not complaining. I first heard about The Doughnut Bar when my friend showed me a picture of this decadent-looking Hershey's doughnut he was eating. I was sold in an instant of looking at the photo and knew I had to track down this new food truck that was roaming around Brisbane. This week The Doughnut Bar food truck was at the Wintergarden and I thought I would pay them a visit on Thursday during my long break.

Indecision kicked in when I saw their menu (how can one possibly choose when all the flavours sound perfect?) but in the end, I settled on the Matcha doughnut for myself (I could not say 'no' to Matcha) and the Cookie Monster doughnut as a treat for my friend.

Having also tried Doughnut Time, these doughnuts had a lot to compare to. And I think based on the flavours, Doughnut Bar > Doughnut Time. These ones from The Doughnut Bar were more bread-like but still very soft, and the icing actually tasted like Matcha and wasn't overly sweet. I also had a bite of the Cookie Monster and same goes for that one as well. It was definitely the perfect treat to make a dreary day much better.
