Day 4 ended with our favourite meal from the trip. Italian at Carmine's. I was going to show the rest of the photos from the day- where we went to the Victoria State Library, Carlton Gardens and Melbourne Museum, but I decided to skip forward to dinner because food is so much more interesting and better to look at. Especially food of such high standard.
We were told (by the friendly young Italian waiter) that this restaurant was a new one on Lygon Street and that the food they served is authentic (unlike others, he said while unconsciously looking along the street at other restaurants) because the chef was Italian. I guess that's what they would all tell you to get you to eat their food...but it worked because we stayed. And for good reason. The spaghetti bolognaise was the best I have had and the chicken, mushroom and pesto pizza was to die for as well. It was definitely a meal worth boasting about.
