December Favourites // Resolutions

A little throwback to my favourite things from last month.

1. IKEA heart cushion with arms. This has been with me since primary school and after neglecting it for years, I rediscovered that it is actually the best thing to hug for any occasion.

2. Typo 2015 Calendar. I received this as a secret Santa present for Christmas with the family. I had been looking for a suitable calendar and this one was pretty much what I needed - good size, quirky designs and plenty of white space to fill up.

3. Lush 'Tea Tree Water' Toner. I had been looking for the right toner for a while and this one leaves the skin refreshed, soft and less oily; and spritzing it onto the face helps to wake me up in the morning.

4. Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I re-watched 500 Days of Summer and developed this new-found admiration for this guy. (And also Zooey Deschanel. I don't think I can mention Jo without mentioning her; I love them both! And even more when they're together) Which leads me to the next thing..

5. The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories: Vol. 1-3. This collection of books
(which I received for Christmas) are published by a company called hitRECord which is founded by Joseph Gordon Levitt. The books contain short stories and poems that are no longer than a few lines and are accompanied by quirky hand-drawn illustrations from different aspiring artists around the world.

6. Brown sandals. These are sandals that I have been wearing with everything. A bit on the expensive side but well worth it when they are this comfortable.

7. James Bay. A new artist that I discovered and not featured above. I particularly like his songs 'Hold Back the River' and 'Let It Go'.

|Resolutions|

I have also been thinking about some resolutions recently (I really don't like that word. It's really overused, particularly this time of the year. But for the sake of this activity, I guess I must) and I thought I would kill two birds with one stone (or rather, with one post) and add them here at the end.

Be confident and courageous.
Something that is a perpetual lesson for me and in which there is more room to grow and improve.

Be open and honest.
Especially to my parents...It's about time I develop a better relationship with them.

Be organised and punctual.
Keeping my priorities in order are always a struggle for me, especially when times get busy. So for me, I think being organised, thinking ahead and trying my best to be on top of things will help me to keep what is most important in first place. Also, not being punctual to events has always been one of my flaws and I thought it's something that needs to change.

Develop a regular exercise routine.
Because I really need it.
I know many people tell me I don't need to exercise since I'm so thin anyway. But I tell them, "Can't I exercise just to be healthy?" And it generally makes the mind and body feel a lot better, something that could be a remedy particularly during busy times.

Do something new.
Whether finding a new hobby, travelling to a destination I have never been before, going on a short term mission, sponsoring a child...I know the list is endless but I just need to take the courage and chance to take the leap.

Give more.
Of my time, resources, help to those who need it (but to also be wise about it).

Write more letters.
This is a specific one and one that I only recently thought of. There is something about putting pen to paper and taking the time to scrawl out a message  (like back in the days, y'know?) that makes it hold so much more meaning and personality. And I've always expressed myself better through words on a page anyway. It's something that I love and miss doing so I thought I would take this year as an opportunity to write more. To whom? To whoever needs a little love and encouragement.
