photo diary: Cheung Chau

So I had a little spare time the other night and thought I would filter through my pictures folder to see what forgotten gems were nestled among the disorganised mess. It was then that I rediscovered photos from a trip to Cheung Chau back in 2011.

The details of the day are a blur but the memory of being at this shoreline is quite clear. There aren't many ways of describing the feeling of being there, besides feeling like it's a place where you can quietly sit for hours without becoming bored because of its every-changing yet stagnant nature...A place that seems to be untouched and untouchable by anything harmful...A place where the endless sea in front of you seems to trigger an automatic reaction to reflect upon life and doing anything else would just seem wrong. **

These types of places are my favourite and staring at these pictures is my attempt in trying to transport myself to this place where I can feel again the serenity and fleeting beauty of what I felt when I was there..

**Poetic, I know..and probably excessively so; but I couldn't find any other way to describe it. #sorrybutnotsorry
