twenty one.

So I recently turned 21 and I hopped around a few restaurants over the course of a few days to celebrate. Since food is the best way to celebrate and also to share, I thought I would post up some more photos of my food adventures for you to vicariously enjoy :)

|| Friday, 3rd April :
One of my uni friends treated me to lunch at Jamie's Italian on the Good Friday holiday. We ordered the squid ink seafood pasta that was on 'the specials' menu that day, a bowl of polenta chips and some baked mushrooms - all of which were delicious. I had promised myself I would try their dessert the next time I visited and so we also ordered a raspberry and chocolate pavlova to share...plus the cheeky 'happy birthday' they scribbled in chocolate on the plate :)

|| Saturday 4th April :
Every time I walk past Jimmy's On the Mall in the city, I always admire their lush vertical wall garden, marble table tops, Scandinavian furniture and pretty fairy lights. And so I made it a goal to visit it one day. And what better day to try it than on my birthday with a few of my close girl friends. The menu was quite extensive but I had already settled on what I wanted before I even opened the menu: the fish of the day (which was tasmanian salmon) with pumpkin & vanilla puree, confit potato, salsa verde, asparagus. Most of the meals were quite generous in their portions (albeit pricey) and we all left feeling pretty satisfied with our visit there.

 || Sunday 5th April :
Japanese is probably my favourite cuisine so I knew it was the obvious choice when my mum asked me where I would like to go with the family for dinner. Mizu in Teneriffe was recommended to me by a friend and after looking at the good reviews on Urbanspoon as well, I was pretty excited to try it out. We had quite a feast there and I was not disappointed by any of the food they brought out. Big thumbs up for this lovely place which was also a very nice way to end my birthday food adventures :)
