There have been a handful of photos from my food adventures that I haven't posted and they have accumulated over the past weeks to a point where I thought it might be a decent idea to compile them into a food diary post. So here it goes:

Little Red Dumpling. This new dumpling joint located at Pineland Plaza was a place that I was hoping wouldn't disappoint; because 1, I love dumplings and 2,  it would mean that there would be a relatively decent dumpling place close to my place that I could frequently visit. Sadly, it fell short of my expectations and New Shanghai still stands as one of my favourite dumpling places in Brisbane.

Jamie's Italian. My friends and I had waited for several months before we could get a reservation here (most probably because we were a fairly big group and it was peak season for celebratory dinners out). I wasn't able to take many photos of the food, partly because the lighting was very dim and we were all too hungry to wait around for photos to be taken. I ordered a Tagliatelle Bolognese and it tasted extremely delicious but the portions were quite small (which was one of the few complaints that we had). I have also heard many good things about the desserts there so I would love to go back to try them next time!

Motto MottoI always look forward to trying new restaurants, and even more so when it's Japanese and when the restaurant decor is nice. This ticked both boxes; however the ramen was a bit disappointing in comparison to many other ramen places. But despite their ramen not being on point, I do commend them for making the place look pretty organic and modern (and their choice of seagreen as their colour :P).

Sweet Treats Dessert Cafe. This cafe is a personal favourite for several reasons. 1. It is probably the only dessert cafe within minutes from my house and it was very reassuring to know that I can easily get my fix of a green tea flavoured things at short notice. 2. It is an ideal place for meetups with friends for an afternoon snack and chat. 3. Macca's is right across the road, if there is ever a need for savoury after sweet. 4. Free wifi. Enough said.

Book to Cook. Not exactly a food place but I'm going to take this opportunity to make a plug for my friend's newly opened business. Book to Cook is a space in Mansfield that offers kitchen hires, office hires, cooking classes, some nibbles and pretty decent coffee (made by my friend himself!). He's been working hard at it for months now and it's great to see it up and running.

Brew. This cafe nestled inside Brisbane city is probably the closest place to be in making me feel like being in Melbourne again. And it's also their haloumi bagel that brings me back there time and time again.

Caffe Cherry Beans. This was the location for a semester-ly catchup with the high school girls last week. It's always a fun time catching up with the girls and even more so when there is pretty decent food to accompany it.

DeeDot. Another brunch favourite that is relatively close to the Southside. Nothing much to say about this place besides great food and great coffee!

Doughnut Time. This must have been one of the most talked about places (for me anyway) and the most frequently posted on Instagram during the past month or so. My friend was nice enough to buy and deliver a few to share during uni one day and they seriously did not disappoint. They are probably the softest and fluffiest doughnuts I have eaten and satisfied all the cravings that I have had over the past month for doughnuts.
