It felt like holidays would never roll around, but they are finally here! This exam block was pretty tough and we could tell from each other's faces that we were all quite exhausted. After the last exam on Friday afternoon we were all a little too keen for our first taste of doing whatever we liked on a Friday night without any more thoughts about having to study for an exam.
Before exam block, my friend and I agreed that after exams we were to treat ourselves with one of the cafes on our list to go to. Brew was not one of them, but it might well have been. We ventured there Saturday morning and was pleasantly surprised at how this cafe had nestled itself in between and under two buildings. It's graffitied facade and orientation has a very Melbourne feel to it - which, I guess, was all the more reason to try it out.
I have to say the coffee is quite good there. Even though I don't really know how to distinguish good coffee from the rest, it was one of the better ones I have tasted. We also ordered a Bagel with Haloumi cheese, caramelised onions and something else that I can't remember. The Haloumi and caramelised onions were just so good! I think it was also the first time I have had a proper bagel so I don't really have anything to compare with, but this one was a pretty damn delicious bagel and I have been thinking about it all day and when I can have another one.
My friend and I were really quite glad that the busy-ness was all over (for now) and that we could finally have a sit down and chat about everything other than uni. And the best part is: we have the whole holidays to do more of it.
