A scatter of photos from the past week(s):

210114 // Brunch at Cafe Madeleine - my small group leader tries to make it a regular habit to catch up with the girls in our small group. We try to pick a different cafe/place to eat and chat in each time, and since this cafe was closed last time we wanted to go, we decided to go back to it to enjoy their meals. I wasn't particularly in the mood to try something different so I just went with the plain 'bacon and eggs with toast' and a strawberry smoothie; the other girls ordered an eggs benedict and a pork chop with omu-rice. Although I didn't get it this time, the sweet potato latte there is quite nice!

250114 // My cousin's 22nd birthday - she only came back from Hong Kong and her travels around South-East Asia a few days before her birthday and since it was nearing Chinese New Year, we decided to merge birthday and CNY dinners together into one. After dinner at Shangri-la, we went back to my auntie's place to have cheese-cake which my cousin's friend made. It was a nice treat that was accompanied with a rather giggly conversation with my cousin and her friends.

260114 // Australia Day celebrations - as usual the Australian Open men's finals falls on (or near) Australia Day. This year, my sister and I decided it would be nice to invite a few people over to enjoy the final match over some home-made dinner. The match turned out to be less thrilling and epic as we hoped since Nadal accidentally(?) injured his back and just by looking at the pain in his face, we felt his heartache also. This meant that his opponent had the upper hand for most of the match and predictably won the match in the end. It was kinda a disappointing win really...Better luck next time Nadal!

280114 // Dessert at Sweet Treats Dessert Cafe - it has been a long time since we had a catch up so we decided it was definitely time to see how each other has been over the past few weeks and what we have been keeping ourselves busy with. For dessert, she ordered some coconut rice with green tea and a big slice of mango, whilst I decided to try out their strawberry soy smoothie (interesting combination but it turned out quite nice!)

Flowers to celebrate Chinese New Year :)

310114 // To celebrate our small group leaders' birthdays (which both fall in the last two weeks of January), our small group leader's girlfriend kindly whipped up these seriously awesome cakes. She bought out one at first and we were already mind blown at the detail and professionalism of it and then she bought out the second one! and we were just speechless. And then the second wave of awe came when they cut the cake open- one was marble patterned inside while the green one was checkered. She's got such a great talent!
