Coolum Trip 2013 :)

The awesome view from our house at Coolum :)
$230 worth of groceries...and this was only our first trip. We literally ate our way through the weekend..
Saturday morning breakfast: bacon, egg and cheese muffins.

Amongst all the fun we had playing board/card games, eating and fooling around we spent a few hours each day dedicated to God :)

The only thing planned for the whole trip was a mountain climb on the Saturday. A few of them weren't really fans of climbing the mountain so was hoping it would rain but it turned out to be a mostly fine day with a grey cloudy sky. Fifteen minutes in, I was already feeling the strain in my legs but once we reached the top..it was well worth it.

Looking back on the trip, it seemed like most of the time was spent and cooking and eating. My friend and I were joking about how we can probably fast for a whole year since we had eaten so much! We had a whole range of leftovers remaining and my mission for breakfast on our last morning was to cook up a decent meal using the leftovers; I swear the people on Masterchef had a challenge like that once and I sure felt the challenge. In the end, I managed to make some pancakes, garlic & butter mushrooms and some of the vegetables and meats that were leftover from the pizza toppings for grilled sandwiches. Even then, the leftovers didn't seem to want to go away so we had to force ourselves to eat it all til we nearly exploded, take home or throw away..sadly.

Our plan of visiting the strawberry farm depended on the weather and luckily for us, it just stopped raining as we were getting to the strawberry farms. So we treated ourselves with single scoop strawberry ice-creams in a cone :) I must say that it is the best strawberry ice-cream I have ever tasted - with it's smooth vanilla with streaks of strawberry and fresh strawberry chunks straight from the farms they were picked from.
